About Us

Together, we build a community rooted in love, beauty, and unity, woven into every bag we create.

At Mootts, inspired by the Nahuatl word for 'roots,' we blend love, beauty, and indigenous heritage into every bag designed by my daughter and me. As a woman-owned business, we empower women locally and globally, providing meaningful employment and fair wages to women in El Salvador. Our mission is to support women's economic independence, fostering community and connection.

Each bag, made from recycled plastic filaments, embodies our commitment to sustainability and the stories of those we work with. We aim to establish roots in El Salvador, spreading our message of empowerment and solidarity.

When you buy a bag, you are part of our Mootts family.

  • Women-Owned

Rooted in love and legacy, Mootts is a woman-founded brand built by a mother and daughter duo. Every bag is designed by women and hand-woven by the talented hands of Salvadoran women artisans. We are deeply committed to empowering women through ethical employment and fair wages, helping them build economic independence through creativity.

  • Handcrafted to Celebrate Slow Fashion

Each piece is a celebration of slow fashion—carefully crafted by hand, never rushed. Our female artisans dedicate time and care to each bag, honoring the process and beauty of traditional weaving techniques. These pieces tell a story that is meant to last and be cherished. It’s fashion with intention: timeless, personal, and made with heart.

  • Sustainable by Tradition

Our bags are woven from recycled plastic filaments—giving new life to discarded materials through age-old weaving techniques passed down for generations in El Salvador. We’ve added our own twist, honoring the past while reimagining the future. It’s sustainability rooted in culture, craftsmanship, and the belief that beauty can be found in the forgotten.
